The Associate Director isprimarily responsible for leading CMEI’s racial justice programming andadministering an inclusive and equity-oriented space for students andcollaborates with the CMEI team to design, deliver, and evaluate CMEIevents and programming. This individual is also involved in promoting equityand cultivating student engagement in other related areas and regularlycollaborates with campus constituents across the university to advance theuniversity’s mission and strategic plan. The Associate Director is astrategic and student-centered thinker who is also skilled at developingeffective professional relationships with individuals and departments. TheAssociate Director reports to the Assistant Dean/Director of the Center forMulticultural Engagement and Inclusion.As the lead professional responsible for the CMEI racial justice programmingand inclusive community space, the Associate Director is a creative andthoughtful student affairs professional who can collaborate with keyconstituents to identify and execute strategies to both broaden and deepenstudent engagement at the University through co-curricular programming andservices. To this end, the Associate Director is adept at developing,assessing, and shifting policies and practices that directly or indirectlyimpact student engagement and student sense of belonging. The AssociateDirector is an active collaborator with academic departments and studentaffairs functional areas to enhance and strengthen existing programming withinthe University community, and to promote the development of new programmingwhere it currently does not exist.
